What is your normal lead time?
For a 20 ft container, our normal lead time is 30 to 45 days from confirmation of order along with payment or a copy of the L/C.
What does private / OEM / custom label mean?
A private label product is made by one company and offered under another company’s trademark. Credit cards are a good example: they carry different banks’ brands but run on networks such as VISA or Mastercard. The agreement between the parties is a private label or OEM agreement.
Can KOMAX offer private / custom / OEM labeling?
Yes. The entire line of 6-inch water-cooled rewindable submersible motors and SS and CI borehole pumps is available for private labeling, in 3″, 4″, 6″ and 8″ borehole pump-sets.
Does KOMAX manufacture submersible motors?
Yes. KOMAX produces water-filled rewindable submersible motors in Lahore.

What are the basic components of a centrifugal pump?
Two groups: the moving parts (impeller and shaft) and the stationary parts (casing, casing cover and bearings).
What is pump efficiency?
The ratio of the power imparted to the fluid to the power supplied to drive the pump — hydraulic power divided by shaft power.
What is motor horsepower (MHP)?
The horsepower supplied as electrical current. The efficiency of most motors ranges from 80 to 95%.
What is brake horsepower (BHP)?
The horsepower supplied to the pump by the motor. More is lost as power moves through the pump, through slippage and shaft friction.
What is water horsepower?
The actual horsepower transferred to the pumped water.
How does a submersible pump work?
It pushes water to the surface by converting rotary energy into kinetic energy and then into pressure energy. Water enters the intake, the impeller drives it through the diffuser, and from there it rises to the surface.
How does a submersible motor work?
It is a sealed electric motor that runs submerged in water, converting electrical energy into mechanical shaft power to drive the pump.

How much horsepower do I need?
Two values decide it: discharge (m³/h, GPH or L/min) and dynamic head (m or ft). The pump is selected from its characteristic curves, and the motor horsepower follows.
What is the recommended well casing size for a 4″ submersible pump?
5″ or 6″ casings. Smaller sizes cause physical problems during installation; much larger sizes reduce motor cooling.
What is the general pump setting level in the well?
Ideally above the main filter, in the blind section. In a normal well the setting is 6–8 ft from the bottom; in a sandy well, 20–25 ft from the bottom to protect the motor from sand. Use a cooling jacket if the pump sits below the main filter.
Why is it important to use a safety rope?
It protects the pump-set if it falls during installation and helps you retrieve it.
How do I wire a 3-phase submersible motor?
The motor has four wires: red, black and blue connect to L1, L2 and L3 in the control box, and the yellow-green wire goes to the ground terminal.
Does KOMAX provide installation and commissioning instructions?
Yes. Installation and operating manuals are supplied with every pump and motor model.
Can KOMAX pumps and motors be coupled with other brands?
Yes. Coupling dimensions follow the international NEMA standard, so they fit other standard pumps and motors.
